I am a disciplined and hardworking person who is driven by improving myself and encouraging others. Making a positive contribution in the lives of people who need it the most is really important to me. It's the reason that I'm working as a support worker right now. In the future I'd love to support families who have been through a similar journey to us.
My story began when I was trafficked to this country back in 2010. I managed to flee and get help from asylum seeker charities and organisations that support people with no access to benefits. Up until December last year I've had no access to financial support and I didn't have the right to work and earn a living. We relied on the support of charities, food banks and friends. It was so tough, especially with young children. When I finally got my papers in December, I rejoiced. I knew that the road ahead was challenging but at least was a start.
I'm now living in temporary accommodation provided by the council. It has been a stressful journey with my three young children. My son always asks why we keep having to move home. He has already moved more than 10 times. We need a space where my kids can sleep, play and learn. This housing situation has caused us so much pain and I pray that it's almost over.
