Hello, I'm Andy. I came to the UK in 2017 with dreams of a fresh start, but life had other plans. I've faced a lot of challenges since then, including a stint in prison, struggles with mental health, and battles with addiction. But I'm proud to say that I'm a recovering addict, clean for several years now, and working hard to manage my mental health. I've been through a lot, but I've never lost sight of what truly makes me happy - being a good father to my kids and being kind to others.
Right now, I'm living in temporary accommodation and my time here is running out. The biggest challenge I've faced has been not getting enough support from various services and finding a stable home has been a struggle. But I'm not giving up. I'm determined to find a home for myself, a place where I can feel secure and focus on rebuilding my life. I'm also looking forward to getting back to work. I've been an installation engineer and a delivery driver in the past, and I have a CSCS card, so I'm ready to get back out there.
Knowing that people want to support me in achieving my goal feels surreal. I'm excited to launch my Beam donations page because I know that every donation will make a difference and give someone like me a second chance. I can't wait to feel the joy and relief when I achieve my goal with Beam. It will feel like people truly care and want to make a difference. In two years' time, I see myself running my own property maintenance company. I'm so grateful for your support - it won't be wasted. Many thanks and I promise, I won't let you down.
