My life took a turn for the worst in 2019 when I became homeless. I closed myself off from the world as I didn’t want to be a burden on my family. I began misusing drugs to escape my reality and found myself in a hole I didn’t know how to get out of.
In 2020 I was approached by a homeless outreach team who supported me into hostel accommodation. This was the first time I had felt seen in a long time, and it really gave me the push to get my life back on track.
In January 2021 I made the decision to get clean from substance misuse. I can now proudly say that I have been clean for over 10 months and I’m ready to start the next segment of my journey which is getting into employment.
With the support from Beam, I am confident that I will be in sustainable employment sooner than later. Any support or donations towards my goal of become a warehouse operative would be really appreciated. Thank you for your time.
