Hello, my name is Christine. I'm a proud mother of three beautiful daughters and eight wonderful grandchildren. I've spent over 35 years working for the NHS as a district nurse and phlebotomist, and I love to express my creativity through art. I'm a people person at heart, and I cherish the precious moments I spend with my family. However, recent years have brought some unexpected challenges. I found myself without a stable home, sofa surfing with my adult daughter. This has been a difficult time, but I'm determined to find a stable home and regain my independence.
The team at Beam reached out to me and I was shocked! I'd never heard of Beam before, but after speaking with my caseworker, I found hope. I realised that there are people out there who want to help me get back on my feet. This has given me the courage to believe in myself and my ability to overcome this hurdle. The support from Beam and my colleagues at the NHS has been incredible, and I'm grateful for every bit of help, even if it's just 50p.
Looking forward, I have big plans. In two years, I see myself continuing to work with the NHS, but also expanding my artistic talent. I dream of teaching small art classes, sharing my passion with others. But most importantly, I dream of walking through the door of my own flat, knowing that I have a place to call home. Achieving this goal would mean the world to me. It would represent a fresh start, a chance to leave my past struggles behind and focus on the future. I can't wait to experience that feeling of relief and happiness, and I'm so thankful for the support that will help me get there.
