The things that make me happy are the best things in life: art, friendship and animals! I would say I'm a creative person and I love delving into things that I find interesting.
I'm living in a hotel supported by St Mungos at the moment. I'm provided with a place to stay as well as my daily meals which I'm extremely grateful for. My journey up until this point has been challenging though. I was working as a self employed tattoo artist around December last year and the job market was really tough. I couldn't find any work and ended up having to sleep rough.
One of the hardest challenges I encountered on the streets was being surrounded by people who were really struggling and using substances to cope. I wanted to keep my mind focused but it's hard when your environment is so chaotic.
I used to work as a bus driver many years ago but I had to stop due to moving away. I'm passionate about getting my qualifications to get back into this area now. I like the practical nature of the job and the way I'll be providing the public with a really essential service.
Once things are stable for me, I'd love to help people who are in my current situation by working in a soup kitchen or even doing outreach with those sleeping on the streets.
