My plan for the future is to have a long-term career doing something that I love in IT, which also pays the bills. I'm deaf, so this works well for me.
I've had issues with my rent over the past year and went into arrears. I'm no longer in debt, which is a big relief. Knowing I have a stable place to stay has been a turning point for me, and I've realised now I want a more stable life. I also want to expand my coding skills so I can becoming more professionally qualified, and I need someone with the right skills to help me achieve this. This is the reason why I'm doing this training. I'll have to wait until after the lockdown to do it, as I'll need an interpreter who can translate using British Sign Language. In the meantime I'll look for work with Beam!
My longterm goal is to be become a Freelancer who's able to provide the full service of Front-End Development, helping customers to build websites for their businesses. I'd get a great sense of achievement knowing that I built someone's website from start to finish.
Getting work right now isn't easy. The lockdown has made it a lot tougher to go out and meet potential employers. But with Beam's help I hope to get into work soon
