In a few years from now, I would love to be self-sufficient financially and in my housing, and feel like a valued member of society again. I have received support that I will forever be grateful for following a challenging period in my life due to mistakes I made. I want to be able to give back to support others and those who helped me.
My career plan is to initially work in the rail industry as a railway worker, learn new skills, and progress before hopefully creating opportunities for myself to work in the offshore renewable energy sector.
Growing up, I lived a hectic, unbalanced lifestyle for a long time. The choices I made and actions I took led me down the wrong path, and I ended up in prison. My time in prison gave me a chance to reflect, reevaluate my life, and get the support, medication, and counseling I needed. It also made me realize that when given opportunities to complete education and training, I could excel in these areas. Having never believed in myself before, this gave me the confidence to achieve what I really wanted and to be proud of myself.
