When you can count on a stable job, life is good. I've worked in catering for the last 10 years but was made redundant when the pandemic started. I'm a mum of two children so the responsibility of looking after my family is the most important thing in my life. Without a job, I can't do it justice.
I have lived in a privately rented place with my kids for many years. We haven't had any issues until I started accumulating arrears due to being out of work. As I'm not working, my benefits are capped too so money is very tight at the moment. We've recently received an eviction notice so the situation has now reached its peak.
Having some money coming into my account will be a huge relief. I want to be more financially stable and less stressed. I don't want to worry about paying the bills and rent after feeding my kids. When I get my first pay cheque I'll be treating my children to some of the things they've missed out on. My eldest child understands when I don't have things to give but my two year old is too young to understand.
I'm hoping to find a part-time role in hospitality or catering as that's where my experience lies. I'd be open to doing a range of different roles though. The most important thing to me is being able to provide for my family and improve our situation.
