Hello, I'm Hans. I've been living in UK since 2004, working as a security guard at clubs and events for over 15 years. Life was pretty steady until I lost my brother and sister. The grief was overwhelming and I found myself unable to work, unable to even speak to anyone. I lost my job and eventually my shared accommodation. For the past 8 months, I've been either rough sleeping or sofa surfing. It's been a hard time, but I'm ready to get back on my feet now.
What makes me happy? Well, I love boxing and exercising. I'm a man of faith and these things have helped me through some tough times. The biggest challenge I've faced has been losing my flat, my siblings, and then my job. But I'm not one to give up. I'm looking to renew my SIA licence and get back into the security industry. I've not been able to apply for jobs recently due to my housing situation and the need for an updated licence, but I'm hopeful that will change soon.
Knowing that there are people out there who care enough to support me back into work feels amazing. Launching this Beam donations page is exciting because it could be the stepping stone I need to get back into the workplace. If you decide to donate, I want you to know how much I appreciate you thinking about my goals and helping me achieve them. In two years time, I see myself back in a full-time role and in my own place again. Achieving this goal with Beam would be incredibly rewarding and a huge boost to my self-esteem. Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
