I'm looking to be comfortable at the moment. I don't need anything special but I'd like a stable job and to be renting somewhere of my own. Living a 'normal' life is what I'm looking for right now.
I became homeless after a relationship breakdown with someone I was staying with. I had been living with them and working for their company. They refused to help me get my national insurance number sorted so that I could get paid properly. That was the point that I had to leave. I didn't have anywhere to go but I did have a car, so I started sleeping there. It was a really difficult time for me and it's impossible to get your life back on track when you don't have regular access to running water or a warm place to sleep. A year and a half later, I was supported by the Single Homeless Project into a temporary hostel.
I'm a painter by trade and I have lots of skills to offer. Recently I've been clearing foliage in people's gardens to keep myself busy, so I'm not worried about getting my hands dirty! I enjoy being busy and would love to have a purpose to my day as well as earning myself a wage. In the future, I'd love to own a house one day and start a family. That's longer term though, for the moment I need to focus on getting into work.
