I'm really passionate about supporting young people and I'd love to be a mentor for school leavers in the future. I already started a project a little while ago that was aimed at helping children leaving secondary school with plans for their future. I'd love to get back into that when I can. It's such a daunting time for young people so I'd love to share some of my own experience to help them.
I became homeless when I fell out with my mum. The house was overcrowded too and as I was pregnant at the time, there wasn't any room for myself and a new baby. I'm sofa surfing now which has proven really difficult for us. I'm grateful to have a place to be but it's a real challenge bringing up my son in a place that isn't our own. I'm a really independent person too, so not having the space to feel comfortable just the two of us is difficult.
I'm on maternity leave from my job in retail at the moment so once that ends I'll be looking to go back to work. Getting into a stable home and feeling settled by that point is so important to me. I have a good work ethic and I want my son to know that work is the best way to financial independence no matter what job you do.
