I've faced my fair share of challenges in life. I was a chef for most of my career, and it cost me a lot - including my relationships with some of my kids. I was also illegally evicted by my last landlord, which left me without a stable place to call home.
I realised I had to move away from being a chef, and I got a job as a construction worker and labourer. I really enjoyed this work, but my employer wasn’t a nice guy. Despite taking on so much responsibility and doing so much for the business, he never gave me the opportunity to get any formal qualifications, which has made it tough now that I’ve got to find another job.
Still, I’m hopeful for the future and determined to get back into work. I have an amazing partner who lives in the US, and my goal is to find a job that gives me enough financial stability so that we can finally live together. Either for her to move to the UK, or for me to move to the US. She’s changed my life for the better, and I can’t wait to get stable employment so that we can start to build a real life together.
