Having slept in a tent outside for the last year, moving into my own place will be life changing. At some points, the temperature has been as low as minus eleven, which has been really hard to cope with. The biggest hurdle I have had to try and face is to get landlords and agents to take me seriously when searching for properties. At times it gets very frustrating when you're just ignored and constantly put down by negative results.
It will feel slightly weird at first actually having my own place again; having a proper bed to sleep in and my own bathroom facilities. It will be great not having to travel twenty miles just to get a shower. No more nights in a cold, wet tent will do my back the world of good!
Finding help is the easy part, finding the right help is the challenge. I always felt there was light at the end of the tunnel and I think my story shows that all is never lost for anyone. Looking to the future, I would love to become a barber and travel around the country working!
