I'm happiest when I have people around me, whether I am just interacting with friends or in a position where I can empower a group of individuals. I also have a huge passion for hair! I love learning how to cut hair and being on top of knowing the latest trends and techniques. My favourite niche area is American tight curl cutting, and I've almost finished my level 2 qualification in hairdressing.
Last year was a difficult time for me. I was subjected to domestic abuse from my family, and I've come to a refuge to escape that situation. I'm still trying to find stability, but my mental health has picked up ever since moving to the refuge. The people there have been lovely and a great support to me.
Now I'm looking forward to taking on new opportunities! First, I would like to find a job that has the flexibility that will allow me to progress. Support work is a great step to achieve that. I believe I have the empathetic nature needed, and the previous training I've done supporting people puts me in a great position to thrive in this role. Secondly, I would love to find a house that I can afford, where I don't spend all my wages on rent. Lastly, I would like to finish my hairdressing course and move into barbering so I can serve the overlooked members of my community.
