Up until recently, I had been living with my ex-partner. We were in a ten-year relationship which ended during the initial lockdown period and I had to move out of our home. I was self-employed at the time with no work lined up which made finding a home extremely difficult. I’m currently sofa surfing between friends houses.
I’m a huge Manchester United fan, I never miss a game, even when we’re playing terribly! I’m also a bit of a pool player. I’ve played for teams across the south and east London. You could also say I’m a massive sci-fi nerd, anything with space and aliens in it and I’m sold!
I've always been interested in charity work. Most recently I volunteered in Camden cooking and selling meals to raise funds for the local elderly community centre. It touched me seeing the impact your help made and how thankful everyone was. After this experience, I just wanted to keep doing it and give back to the community where I could. I always keep an eye out for any charity work or community projects I can get involved with.
I really love working with my hands and I’m a hard worker. Being able to stand back at the end of putting all the hard work in and seeing the end results is really satisfying for me. I can look at my work and say “I did that” and I take a lot of pride from that. In two years I’d just like to have a steady job and a place to call my own. I’d also like to be working towards going self-employed and starting up my own plastering/tiling business. Being able to be completely self-sufficient and maybe even employing a couple of people myself.
