The last couple of months has been incredibly difficult. I am currently fleeing an abusive situation, and have been moved from hotels to temporary accommodations all in the run-up to Christmas and in the really cold weather. I just want to get back on my feet and start building a new life for me and my daughter.
My biggest dream for the future is to feel settled again after all this uncertainty. I can't wait to have somewhere to call home again and get back to work. I've always worked with young people, it's what I have dedicated my whole career to. I am hoping to gain work as a family support worker, especially working with teens. I am hugely passionate about empowering young people to have a voice. I feel like young people, especially teenagers, get forgotten about and society has a certain view of them.
I really struggle to ask for help, especially as I'm usually the one people are coming to help for! I'm so grateful that there is a community like Beam to support me, it really does take some of the pressure off while we go through such a difficult stage in life.
