My family and daughter are what make me happy. I’m also an animal lover and I’m very spiritual. I love long walks with my dog, Missy, and I also love keeping fit. Helping people and making them happy, especially the elderly, is my passion though as that is the field of work I am studying for. Over the last year I have completed my Level 2 in Health and Social Care and in September I will be starting my Level 3. My long-term goal is to open my own care home for the elderly.
I have had to deal with a lot of demons to get where I am today, primarily my battle with alcohol addiction. It is something I have battled since the age of 16. I didn't really attend school and so I didn't know I actually had a brain and could study. I am so proud of myself for completing my Level 2 diploma. I've been sober for 2 years now and I never want to touch drink again. I live in a shared house, where I am supported by Kairos, and I love it.
I feel like my life started at 40 and I feel absolutely blessed and grateful to have received the support that I have. Knowing I’m one step further in completing my education and achieving my goal feels amazing. I am so excited for this journey I am on.
