For the last 10 years I have been working in construction in the UK. Personally, I love working in this industry. I know lots of people hate construction, but I like to go to work every morning and be active. I know people who stay in the office at a desk all day and they get tired. I like to be outside and moving around, I feel better and I come home happy. I don't think people who work at a desk can always say that.
My main priority is to be able to provide for my family. Since my last project stopped a few months ago I have struggled to find work. It's been incredibly stressful, I've never been in a situation before where I am struggling to provide even the basic things, like a home and food, for my family. The biggest blocker for me has been that I didn't have a CV, which many employers were asking for, despite me having multiple construction qualifications and references.
Working with Beam, I have been able to create a CV this week and within 24 hours I have been receiving multiple calls about potential jobs. I am hoping to interview asap and start having money coming in again, so that I can keep my family safe and stop having sleepless nights.
I am so grateful to everyone for their support, and look forward to being able to repay this one day soon in the future, once I am up and running again.
