I'm a single mum to five beautiful children who, for the last few years, have been moved between hotels, motels and temporary accommodation. We’re currently in a two bedroom flat where I have to sleep in the front room. Every night I pull out a sofa bed, then wake early to fold it away so there's room for the children to have breakfast.
I feel like our dreams are coming true. I'm finally going to get my own room, my own real bed. Knowing there will be enough space for everyone, for my children to eat and sleep, I'm speechless and I am so grateful. My children have smiles on their faces because they will get a place they can truly call home. This will be the place to start the next chapter in our lives.
I'm over the moon, it's all I've ever wanted for myself and my babies. My middle son has ADHD and ASD, so every change has been challenging for him. As a mother, I’ve tried to make this all as easy as possible. I’m looking forward to my children being settled in our family home and new schools, and for my son to have his safe place when things get too much. With a stable home, I hope I can also get back to caring in the community. Bring it on!
