I first became homeless after fleeing from the domestic violence I suffered from my children's father. I was given temporary accommodation after I got in contact with Solace and I am still in temporary accommodation now trying to get back on my feet.
I'm also a nursing student, which has never been easy, especially as I was working extra shifts to support my family. Not being able to work after being placed in isolation has created tremendous financial pressure on me as a single parent.
Getting a laptop for the kids so they can do their schoolwork and not fall behind would mean so much for us as they can't access the resources they used to be able to. I also want to be able to complete my nursing training so I can begin working as a qualified nurse. It is a job I have always admired and can't wait to start.
