I recently lost my job working for an airline due to problems with my housing. A recent relationship breakdown meant that I had to move into temporary accommodation and it wasn't a commutable distance to work. I'm the sole carer for my daughter and so my responsibilities for her had to come first. Things are looking up though. I'm getting job support from Beam at the moment and a few days ago, we moved into a new place after they paid the deposit. We're so happy to be in a better position!
Despite all the support, home schooling my daughter and keeping her engaged comes with its challenges. We don't have the right educational tools and I don't have the funds to buy things at the moment. Due to poor insulation, we paid huge amounts for our bills in our old flat and so we were living hand to mouth a lot. Getting some books or educational projects for my daughter will go a really long way in helping us get through this.
Ojevwe previously used Beam to become a project manager, and is continuing with his job search
