Since relocating to the UK, I've faced numerous challenges. The most significant one was ensuring my family's safety and resettling after the collapse in Afghanistan. After moving to Pakistan and then to the UK, securing stable housing was very difficult, especially after spending over a year in hotels. After overcoming this challenge, securing a stable job has been my next obstacle. Despite completing my masters degree in London and having previously worked in international affairs, my dream job as a researcher faced difficulties due to the stringent 5-year security checks in the UK, preventing me from finding a stable job despite receiving multiple job offers.
Fortunately, a turning point arrived as I recently managed to secure a job as a Freelance Interview Researcher. The excitement, however, was short-lived as my car unfortunately broke down. Having your own vehicle is a compulsory requirement for the role, so I became very worried about fulfilling the conditions of my new job offer and at risk of losing it. This setback has been disheartening, but with the support of Beam, repairing my car in time for my start date has now become a possibility. I hope to finally begin working in my dream role again and gain some experience. Looking ahead, I aspire to eventually work within the government as a researcher.
I am looking forward to having a settled life here in the UK. Knowing that people want to support me in achieving this goal is heartening. I'm determined not to be a burden on society and want to stand on my own two feet as soon as possible. My ultimate aim is to be in a position where I can be a part of the givers, not the takers and work within charities to help others in need and give them the same warm welcome that I have kindly received.
Thank you to everyone who has donated and helped me during this difficult period. Your support means the world to me.
