Over the last few years, I feel like I’ve been everywhere except somewhere I could call home.
I grew up in Sudan but, after suffering persecution, I fled. From there, I ended up in Libya. Sadly, things didn’t get much better and I travelled through Europe, even camping in the Calais Jungle for a short while. Eventually (and thankfully!) the UK government granted me asylum. But I still had nowhere to live. From the streets, some amazing workers from St Mungo’s helped me into temporary housing. And this is still where I am today!
Plumbing is a trade I did many years ago in my home country. I know I can do it well and enjoy the process of fixing things. But to work in the UK, I first need the right qualification. And with your help, I know I can get there! After that, I can’t wait to start working and finally move into my own flat.
