The thing that makes me happiest in life are my kids. I want to be a job so that I can provide for my family and give them the best future possible. A stable life is the most important thing to me at the moment and since I’ve always been great with my hands I think a career in a trade will be a good choice!
I found myself not doing very well over the last couple of years. Lots of different things led to me having to go through a rehabilitation programme. Receiving the right support made me realise that I wanted to change my situation and do better for everyone in my life. And then, I heard about Beam.
Earning my own money once I'm in work means that I will be able to rent a place of my own and give back to those who have helped me on my journey when things weren't going well. Plus, I left school at 15 so I've always liked the idea of going back into education and learning new things. I'm excited to get into that classroom and show my kids I can make them proud!
When I have finished my training and found work, I hope I can live a 'normal' life, something that hasn't always been the case for me. This second chance means that I can put the past right and use my skills to help others. Working with Beam is a fresh start for me and I couldn't be more excited.
