Hi everyone, I am so excited to be joining Beam and launching my campaign.
Let me tell you a bit about myself. I have three children who I love very much. I grew up in Lagos and for 20 years ran my own catering business where I managed 10 people. I moved to the UK over 15 years ago with my children and since 2013, I have cared for my son who has vision impairment and left-sided paralysis.
I am looking to find part-time work as a healthcare assistant. I am interested in doing a job as a care assistant because I feel that it is something I can easily get something to do. I have cared for my son and before my parents passed away, I cared for them. It is just something I feel I can do.
I don't mind working in a care setting but I am looking to keep training and developing in order to keep progressing. I hope to be able to be enrolled by the end of the year in a Maths and English Functional skills training course.
Besides work, I have a lot of passions in life. I love entertaining people. In my spare time, I love to read and explore the world around me. I love reading fiction and my favourite author is Jeffrey Archer and his book series, the Clifton Chronicles.
In two years' time, I will have hopefully moved out and been able to start a proper career in Social Care. I would also have liked to be well settled in an accommodation where I know I can stay for a long time. I hope my children will be in school and studying hard.
I feel emotional knowing people want to support me to achieve my dreams. I am pleased that people are there to support me when I most need it.
