I’ve always been passionate about social justice. Over the years I’ve worked with different groups including youth offenders and victims of human trafficking. Through this I came to realise I had a real interest in the legal side of it all. I find the details and complexities of legislation so fascinating!
Though I loved my job, at this time I was encountering huge difficulties in my personal life. This included homelessness and trauma from ongoing abuse. Things reached the point where I had to leave my job and I found myself at risk of losing my home once again. Yet enduring these hardships made me aware of my own strength. I know that I can navigate through extreme adversity. I’ve worked extremely hard to build myself back up and now have two unconditional offers for a graduate diploma in law.
Becoming a paralegal will be my first step into the world of law and I don't want to stop there. Eventually I hope to become a qualified solicitor or barrister and help as many women as possible to achieve protection and safety. I don't put limits on my dreams and I know that through law I can become an effective and inspirational advocate for others.
