I’ve always been a people person, friendly and proactive. These characteristics make a job in human resources the perfect fit. How fantastic would it be to help other people get the most from their careers, at the same time that I get my own back on track?
A few years ago, I lived with my husband. I had stopped work after a number of miscarriages and sadly, my relationship broke down around the same time. When my husband left, I had no way to pay my bills and lost the flat. I moved around for a year, staying with different friends, but I struggled and stress and depression began to set in.
I found a hostel to move into. Having my own space again really improved my mental health and I later started the 'employment preparation' programme which kickstarted my journey back to work. I applied for jobs but - with a gap in employment - it's proved difficult. Inspired by a previous job in relocation, I started to look into Human Resources. I realised I could combine my interest in business with my love for working with other people. Getting my HR diploma will open a lot of new doors for me in the job market. It shows potential employers my commitment to this career, and I know it will boost my self-confidence. I'm excited to grow in this field and hopeful I can progress all the way to consultant level! With your support, I can get back into work that I love.
