Me and my son have been living in the same property for more than a decade but due to the cost of living crisis, my landlord increased the rent by £700 per month. Because we couldn't pay this, he then issued an eviction notice, leaving us homeless. On top of this, I left a really difficult and manipulative work environment back in March because I couldn't face it anymore, meaning my income became less stable. It's been a stressful few months, and very time consuming trying to find something that suited me and my family's needs.
My next steps are to get back into the job market working in an HR role, which I have done for years and really enjoy. My son is incredibly smart, and going off to University soon, but in the future I want to move into a bigger place so that he can come to stay and have his own room too.
It’s a wonderful feeling to know that there is an organisation such Beam that gives you that financial support and actually delivers the promise. It's also so great knowing that there are people out there willing to support people back on their feet, and I am so grateful for all your kindness and wishes!
