Vas's campaign has fully funded! 🎉 A Beam employee is now supporting him on his journey through training and into work as an electrician.
But other Beam members need your help. Support the greatest number of homeless people to train up and get into work by giving monthly.
The course so far is quite fast and challenging.
At the end of this week, I will be taking the first test in environmental technology. I hope I will sail through as it is considered to be the easiest of the year.
Wish me luck 🤞
I have been asking myself where the time goes by since I last spoke to you. Everyday brings something new and challenging!
The course is well on its way with six subjects in total. The most interesting for me so far is the design of electrical installation.
As the new academic year begins, I am delighted to say that, thanks to you, I have just completed the first two orientation days. On the eve of the first day, I had an unsettled night with excitement and anticipation about what the new day would bring.
When I arrived in this totally unfamiliar building, it brought me back memories similar to when I started going to school. The two days flew by getting to know the surrounding with each other and the curriculum. Great to get going!
During the past weeks, apart from looking for a job I have been occupied with a course in Painting and Decorating.
It helped me to have a broader idea about trades and acquire new skills. Going forward, the good news is that this Tuesday I will go and enrol myself at the college for the coming year in Electrical Installations L3.
I just thought that you might like to see one of my creations in mosaics that I have been doing in the evenings.
Breaking news 'The No. 1 Supporter Team has broken all original expectations by reaching the target in this short space of time' 📰 🎉
This achievement has been beyond my wildest dreams and I hope you are as pleased and excited as I am on hearing this news - and that you will give something to yourself as well to celebrate your unconditional generosity!
Over the past few weeks, lots of interesting things have been happening. As well as being in the middle of applying for the Level 3 Electrical Installations, I have been tying up a few training sessions in Tiling and Carpentry. 🔨
As far as back as I can remember, I have been inspired, amazed and impressed by the very detailed and creative ways that people have worked with these materials. So pleased that I have the time to see what I can produce.
Until the next time, I hope the good weather is being good to you. ☀️ Thanks again!
Congratulations and well done to everyone for achieving top marks in the last and one of the most challenging and difficult tests known as " Principles of Electrical Science".
Your ongoing support, help and commitment is leading me onwards and upwards to Level 3 of Electrical Installations!
Since my last contact, I have been busy studying towards the last challenge of the current course in Electrical Installations. It has been very interesting and I am looking forward to completing this course in two weeks time. 💡
In addition to my studies, I have taken the time to revisit the website and read how everyone is progressing.
I have been reflecting on the amazing response received from hundreds of people and your endless interest and encouragement you have instilled in us. I really thank you and appreciate the way you believe in me which helps me believe in myself.
I would like to thank you for your kind support over the past three weeks that will certainly go long way to help me achieve my goal. Your generous contributions are keeping me positive and motivated as the time to begin my training draws near.
Above is a photo of me with one of my recent assessments in the Tiling course I've been attending to.
Since publishing my story I have been overwhelmed by the huge response from each and everyone of you who contributed to enable me start on this exciting new challenge. I am sincerely touched that you took the time to get to know me and my situation.
I have just completed my final practical assessment this week and I am delighted to say that I was successful. I will be busy studying from now till the end of this month for my final two exams. I am very positive about facing these and I know deep down that the kindness you expressed will guide me all the way to succeed.
It feels amazing because I am going to be one step ahead to my goal. I am a little bit nervous, of course. I am looking forward to finish successfully the campaign. I am looking forward to reading the messages on my profile - it will be really motivating! I would like to say thank you for the support and I want to show you that the money will go to a good place.

Too often homeless people are forced to lie out of sheer desperation. We think it's better when relationships are built on trust and honesty. Beam verifies each member in 4 ways:
1. Referral: every member of Beam is referred by a registered homelessness charity or local authority.
2. Interviews: before their campaign launches, each member is interviewed twice by a Beam Member Manager.
3. References: we take references on each member from the charity who refers them and someone in a position of responsibility.
4. Profile: we take great care to verify information in a member's story is true.
It's your money.
We work hard to ensure that you can give confidently.
A caseworker or "Member Manager" is an employee of Beam who helps those referred to Beam to plan a crowdfunding campaign and supports them through training and into work.
All Member Managers are trained professionals who specialise in supporting vulnerable adults by focusing on their strengths and abilities.
