In September, 3Search's Michael Judkins (AKA Judders), will be participating in Ultra X 125 England, running an incredible 125km over 2 days!
Ultra X 125 England takes place in the Peak District National Park, an upland area characterised by vast green landscapes, rounded hills, plateaus, valleys, limestone gorges, and gritstone escarpments. Find out more about the challenge here: https://ultra-x.co/england-125/
Here's what he has to say about this challenge...
"When I signed up to run 125km over two days, it was a personal challenge to myself, but the more I train, the more I believe I should be doing this for a good cause.
If you have ever run long distances you will know at times all you have for company is your thoughts. I find this time useful to reflect and I often realise how privileged I am that I can spend 2-5 hours of my weekend spending time in the open, running, doing a hobby I love. When I return, I get to go to my home, have a shower and eat plenty of food before sleeping in my bed.
Unfortunately, for many people, the reality is drastically different and they are homeless without necessities such as food and drink or a bed to sleep in.
I work in an industry that helps people get jobs, so when I heard about Alex and his mission for Beam, I was instantly interested and wanted to see if 3Search could partner with them. We started working together earlier this year and it has been great to see our work help those who need it equip themselves with the skills to find work.
I want to do more though...
So, here I am, training for a run which is 3 marathons over two days to help support others who need it."
